Michael became my councillor through Royal Surrey Hospital after my mum passed away from Pancreatic Cancer after a VERY short time after being diagnosed (5 weeks). I had previously suffered from anxiety and panic attacks prior to this, and was too proud to look for help (being a stubborn 30 year old). These then got worse once I was having to deal with the bereavement having lost my mum at a young age. Of course I felt so nervous walking in to our first session, but Michael was so welcoming and just sat me down and let me talk. His welcoming and understanding nature over the subsequent sessions made me feel like I could open up and discuss anything and everything and now I am in a far better place than before. I just want to let people know and thank Michael for his help, empathy and patience. So Michael, Thank you!!!
Melanie Senior Research Administrator at University of Surrey. November 17, 2020, Michael worked with Melanie in the same group. I have known Michael Hope for over four years, the first two of which were spent training in Counselling Skills (CPCAB) in the same class at Farnborough College of Technology. In college, Michael was highly respected by his fellow students and became known to all as a very credible, kind, and compassionate person.
