Surrogacy is a fertility procedure in which professionals first take the eggs and sperm of the biological parents and perform an IVF procedure in a laboratory to create a healthy embryo/s. Couples and the surrogate mother visit a fertility clinic for a pregnancy test after 14 days of embryo transfer. The specialist will perform an ultrasound examination to check the state of pregnancy in the uterus of the surrogate mother. If the expert finds that everything is fine and the surrogate mother and the baby are healthy, they will release the surrogate mother from the fertility clinic. After that, couples must visit their local gynaecologist for further treatment. The surrogate mother will carry the child until full birth and hand the child over to the biological parents.
